Also on this site there are photos taken by resident Norm Rasmussen, found under Norm’s Photos and categorized by year (2012-Present).
Whether at the monthly resident birthday party, a holiday celebration or commemorative event, or any other major John Knox Village gathering, Norm Rasmussen remains dedicated to capturing the memorable moments on camera and sharing them with others.
After retiring from the dairy industry in 1997, Norm and his wife, Min, traveled to Zambia, Africa, for a three-month trip with International Executive Services Corps. Before leaving, the Rasmussen’s children purchased Norm his first Olympus digital camera.
From the African trip, as well as a visit to Ukraine, Norm was able to share his remarkable experiences through photos with relatives and friends. He even prepared a slide presentation that highlights the unique trip.
Since his first Olympus, Norm has owned three other cameras, including his current Canon T3i. For training with the technology, including learning Adobe Photoshop, a close friend of Norm’s helps him every Thursday for a couple of hours.
Upon moving to John Knox Village in 2003, the Rasmussen’s extended John Knox Village family has considerably grown. Now, Norm provides his photos to other residents, their friends and family, some of our employees and potential prospects wishing to view what life is like at John Knox Village.
